I'm not sure of the best way to incorporate this kind of information into the article, but I thought it might be interesting to mention certain recent scientific studies that have shown how ICSI may be associated with epigenetic alterations at imprinted loci in the manipulated embryos, sometimes leading to disorders such as Angelman's syndrome and Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome.

See: Cox GF, et al. Intracytoplasmic sperm injection may increase the risk of imprinting defects. Am J Hum Genet 2002; 71:162

Orstavik KH, et al. Another case of imprinting defect in a girl with Angelman syndrome who was conceived by ICSI. Am J Hum Genet 2003;72:218

DeBaun MR, et al. Assocation of in vitro fertilization with Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome and epigenetic alteratiuons of LIT1 and H19. Am J Hum Genet 2003;72:156

You can do it yourself! In general I would avoid case reports and focus on review articles/controlled trials/case series that give a somewhat broader outlook. JFW | T@lk 11:28, 10 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Would be nice if someone finished the "complications" section, hey? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.216.68.249 (talk) 11:31, 30 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
