What should have this interstate been numbered
I'm seeing it mentioned twice that this highway violates AASHTO's numbering scheme since its between I-79 and I-81. However, aside from being hinted at in a statement by Bud, it's never indicated what number the route should have been given. - ʄɭoʏɗiaɲ τ ¢ 06:55, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
- The most logical answer is a three-digit spur route, but it's original research to say what the number should have been. The archive has a section on this topic. – TMF 21:20, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
- The other possibility would be calling it I-81, with I-81 redesignated I-83 and I-83 redesignated as a spur route thereof (like I-183) and I-283 redesignated something like I-776. That'd give us the most elegant final solution but obviously would probably be considered prohibitively disruptive. Powers T 21:04, 30 March 2012 (UTC)
The link from I80 to I86 in New York opened
That final five or so mile stretch was finally completed and opened in October. http://www.the-leader.com/article/20131008/NEWS/131009730 Interestingly, Google maps knew about it and it was showing up as I-99 but it has since been removed. B137 (talk) 20:56, 17 March 2014 (UTC)
Updated map
Although this article does have a map, I went ahead and tagged it as needing a map because it needs updated to reflect the addition of the New York section of I-99, and possibly a dotted line to show where the two sections would connect with each other. With regards to making a map, I would not put a dotted line down to I-68 yet at this time, as it appears that PennDOT isn't extending it south yet at this point. - You'll have to make a request at Wikipedia:WikiProject U.S. Roads/Maps task force/Requests. --WashuOtaku (talk) 22:56, 23 January 2015 (UTC)
- OK thanks. I knew there was a link for that, but I couldn't find it to save my life. Jgera5 (talk) 15:37, 24 January 2015 (UTC)
