Frozen

Range of "Let It Go"
This page says "...her anthem "Let It Go", which they wrote specifically for Menzel due to its demanding vocal range," and cites reference 99 with a direct quotation: "The range of the song spans almost three octaves, and it was actually written with Menzel in mind as she is one of the few who could pull it off." Although the source is NPR -- https://www.npr.org/2014/02/24/282081061/let-it-go-a-global-hit-in-any-language -- it is wrong: the range of Let It Go is less than two octaves. This can be confirmed by listening or from any sheet music of the song. Menzel's performance is expressive and now iconic, but the range is standard for an alto and only a slight stretch for a mezzosoprano.
