Ice cream in china
A lot of articles on the internet claim that ice cream was also present in China. But China isn't mentioned once. Would it be better to also acknowledge China's involvement in ice cream? 83.134.130.193 (talk) 20:27, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
Self-contradictory?
"Mrs A.B.Marshall's Cookery Book, published in 1888, endorsed serving ice cream in cones. Agnes Marshall was a celebrated cookery writer of her day and helped to popularize ice cream. She patented and manufactured an ice cream maker and was the first to suggest using liquefied gases to freeze ice cream after seeing a demonstration at the Royal Institution." If she saw it at the RI, it's almost certain someone suggested it in order for it to have been present! Or does the text mean that the demonstration of liquefied gasses sans ice cream was what she observed? If the latter, then the sentence should say so. 136.36.180.215 (talk) 05:53, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
Protected term in the UK?
What's the current status of this? User:Sharnadd cites a 2014 government document which if I'm reading it correctly proposes to let the 1996 Food Labelling Regulations (which required "ice cream" to include a certain level of milk protein) lapse at the end of that year, to be replaced with a "standing and widely respected voluntary agreement" used by the European Ice Cream Association. Did that happen?
And can we find a source for Sharnadd's edit summary assertion that "leaving EU has not changed the regulations"? Belbury (talk) 16:55, 6 December 2024 (UTC)

Soy redundancy?
Ice creams made from cow's milk alternatives, such as goat's or sheep's milk, or milk substitutes (e.g., soy, oat, cashew, coconut, almond milk, or tofu)
Is it not redundant to have both soy and tofu here since tofu is made of soy? Culverinse (talk) 18:48, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
There's a typo in the History section.
The "Early frozen deserts" section misspells Syrian physician Ibn Abi Usaibia's name as "Ibn Abu Usaybia."
There are multiple accepted spellings according to the hyperlinked article for this person but every spelling uses "Ibn Abi" instead of "Ibn Abu."
I'd fix it myself but the article is semi-protected. 2600:8807:8840:4410:7A7A:1C7B:8791:CC4 (talk) 17:48, 3 April 2025 (UTC)
