Shouldn't this page redirect to the Internet Protocol article instead? In my opinion, the term 'IP protocol' refers to the specific protocol rather than internet protocols in general. intgr

Since nobody has commented on this for weeks, I'm changing the redirect to Internet Protocol intgr 19:17, 19 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Script error: No such module "user". changed the redirect target to List_of_IPv4_protocol_numbers, citing "the context in which pages link to it". This seems a little silly to me; if articles are linking to IP protocol (which they shouldn't be in the first place, since it's a case of RAS syndrome) and mean to link to List of IPv4 protocol numbers, we should fix those articles. Redirects don't exist solely to serve articles that link to them, but also to serve idiots like me who type "IP protocol" into the search box and want information on the Internet Protocol. —Caesura(t) 17:25, 10 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
