History
this page tells you nothin about the history of Hounslow I may be a 14 year old kid but this offends me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.85.1.1 (talk • contribs) 14:06, 30 September 2003 (UTC)
- I must say you're easily offended! The reason the article tells you nothing about the hisory of Hounslow is because nobody with the knowledge of the history of Hounslow has edited the page. If you live in Hounslow, perhaps you could add some info to the page instead of complianing that you are offended. You may be a 14 year old kid, but you probably know a darn site more about Hounslow than I do :-) Theresa knott 13:36, 3 Oct 2003 (UTC)

an issue about geographical space
"It is a suburban development situated 10.6 miles (5.3 km) west south-west of Charing Cross." - the maths of KM against miles just doesn't add up here! :-/
Difficult to believe that 'the Gentleman Highwayman' really was Akit Patel...
In abouts the 13th-18th century, the men called Highwaymen who romed around the Heath side of Honuslow (hounslow heath). Highwaymen were people who stole peoples gold and basicly robbed them however they wanted.
New development
Going to include a cinema in the new development? Yeah, right, like that swimming pool they've been promising us since they demolished the original one 30 years ago. If it isn't a shop or somewhere to live it ain't going to happen. 217.169.30.146 10:44, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

The Hit Movie "Bend It Like Beckham" was filmed here
The movie Bend it Like Beckham was filmed in Hounslow, and used several local landmarks and Indian neighborhoods. It was a significant movie that represented a major step in Anglo-Indian relationships in Great Britain and initiated a movement for women's sport in other countries throughout the decade. Shouldn't this be mentioned here in some capacity? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.183.139.126 (talk) 04:27, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
Yes, I'd put something here too. This is a film used in many schools and some background information about the community might be of interest. After all almost every student will look up this page to see if the place really exists. Come on Hounslowers present your city! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.61.136.190 (talk) 15:11, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
It's not a city; it's a town. AndrewJFulker (talk) 11:42, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
Is this really so?
Someone has added "This first generation were subject to numerous clashes with fascist and racist groups, in particular those from Feltham. It should be noted that there are still to this day reports of racial conflicts between both Hounslow and Feltham, the latter of which is home to a high volume of EDL and BNP supporters." I think we need urgent citation for this. As someone who grew up in the London Borough of Hounslow, and still lives between Hounslow and Feltham, I am not sure that this is either acurate or helpful to the local community. Saying that there is trouble when there is not will only stir up bad feeling that I don't feel is there any more (if it ever was at all). Anyone got an opinion on this? AndrewJFulker (talk) 09:07, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
- Almost two months and nobody has voiced an opinion or provided a citation so I have removed the wording. AndrewJFulker (talk) 17:43, 19 January 2012 (UTC)
Hounslow - Introduction to the article
The article atarts: "Hounslow (play /ˈhaʊnzloʊ/) is the principal town in the London Borough of Hounslow." This is true. It is drawing a clear distinction between Hounslow the town, and Hounslow the London borough. However the article includes pictures (eg of Osterley House) of features which are not in Hounslow the town, and this can only cause confusion. May I suggest that those pictures, beautiful though they might be, are deleted? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tom Beaton (talk • contribs) 17:00, 11 September 2012 (UTC)
Ealing, home of the world's oldest movie lots still in use, is spelt "Eaing" in this account. Please confirm and correct.
