kilometers!

In the UK we use miles and miles per hour. So why does the entry use kilometers with miles in brackets? Also, the numbers are incorrect, as they are different on the HS1 official web site. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.21.15.48 (talk) 22:52, 10 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

I believe HS1 was built and is operated using kilometres first, whereas the rest of the British railway network still uses miles. NemesisAT (talk) 12:48, 30 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
However they still use the miles when operating. QuarioQuario54321 (talk) 22:31, 29 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
@QuarioQuario54321 Not the case - the Transmission Voie-Machine signalling system used on HS1 uses kilometres per hour. "The maximum permitted speed for each running line is shown in kilometres per hour (km/h)." All distances are also in kilometres per hour "Distances on the main HS1 route are shown in kilometres and metres based on a ‘0’ datum point at St. Pancras International station." The article is written with kilometres as the predominant measurement (as per HS1), with relevant conversions shown where necessary. Turini2 (talk) 22:38, 29 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
Just jumping in here to add further support for the article's main units of measurement being metric. Kennethmac2000 (talk) 18:00, 21 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

CTRL or London St Pancras Highspeed?

Is this article about the piece of physical infrastructure known as the Channel Tunnel Rail Link, or is it about the company known as London St Pancras Highspeed? It currently seems to be conflating the two things.

I would suggest these two concepts are separated out into two separate articles. Kennethmac2000 (talk) 18:02, 21 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

Article review

It has been a while since this article was reviewed, so I took a look and saw lots of uncited statements, including entire paragraphs. Should this article go to WP:GAR? Z1720 (talk) 02:36, 29 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

GA Reassessment

Phase 2 in 2016?

The "Building Cost" section notes "Its phase one was completed in 2007 and phase two in 2016." and cites First Interim Evaluation of the Impacts of High Speed 1 but the only mention of 2016 in the pdf is about regeneration around Stratford International. Page 18 of the pdf says "Phase 1 of HS1 from the Channel Tunnel to Fawkham Junction opened in September 2003" which is different to the 2007 phase 1 in the article. Page 40 of the pdf point to HS1 Phase 2 being between 2006 Q3 and Q4. This is possibly when construction finished but before the line opened to passengers. Page 93 of the pdf says there was a "phased opening of the route" and "Section 1 opened in 2003 between the Channel Tunnel and north Kent terminating at Waterloo. Section 2 opened in 2007 between a newly built Ebbsfleet station in Kent and London St Pancras." The information in the article is different to the information in the pdf that the article cites. 2A00:23C5:6A17:801:C202:3417:47F1:771B (talk) 01:53, 14 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
