Sex offender

He should not be referred to as a sex offender in the opening part of the article. Undue emphasis. 2A00:23C8:9F93:FB01:DAF:79F8:1E09:A314 (talk) 17:14, 30 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

How is that undue? It's what he's known for as much as his career as a producer. They are inseparable. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:23, 30 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
His conviction was thrown out and he is getting a retrial. Yes. Everyone thinks he did it, but this is possibly in danger of libel. 2600:100A:B03B:7C57:E95B:28C8:E7F:553B (talk) 01:02, 12 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
The CA conviction stands; he's being retried only in NY. HalfSourLizard (talk) 00:54, 9 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Rikers is a JAIL not a prison

Your article says "Prison." It's mostly for pre-judgment holding, meaning a JAIL not a PRISON. 68.194.216.245 (talk) 16:19, 28 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

  • What I think should be changed: Under the section "New York conviction overturned", "the New York Court of Appeals overturned the New York rape convictions and said that the trial judge had made "egregious errors" with the attorney stating Weinstein had been "tried on his character, not the evidence."

should be updated to change the final words to with Weinstein's attorney stating Weinstein had been "tried on his character, not the evidence." (emphasis mine)

  • Why it should be changed: The existing text doesn't identify "the" attorney, making it appear the statement about being tried on their character and not the evidence is coming from the New York Court of Appeals rather than a paid advocate.

Minor change

In the text it says that and I quote Weinstein was thanked or praised in 34 Academy Award acceptance speeches — as many times as God, and second only to Steven Spielberg (with 43 mentions), as found by an analysis of speeches made between 1966 and 2016.

I think the 1966 part is inaccurate seeing as he wouldn't have been a producer yet. Could it be change from 1966 to 1996 seeing as all those thank you speeches were in the 90s and not the 60s with regards 78.148.94.78 78.148.94.78 (talk) 18:45, 4 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
