Graduate admissions
I'm not sure the criteria listed are accurate for all admissions. I was looking at the data science program, and as far as I can tell, the reading/writing skills assessment is not a requirement nor is the proseminar? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.112.196.140 (talk) 16:29, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
- yes you are correct. for data science as of April, 2025 these are not required, at least not for native English speakers and I do not believe for anyone else. Johndowning (talk) 20:22, 5 April 2025 (UTC)
remove reference to primarily for nontraditional students.
As the years go by this reference seems to be more and more outdated. As we enter the mid 21st century, there is really less and less of a distinction between "traditional" and "non" traditional, there is just learners. I propose we remove "primarily for nontraditional students." from the opening paragraph. Johndowning (talk) 20:21, 5 April 2025 (UTC)
- On reflection, the "nontraditional" term still seems somewhat relevant in 2025. Johndowning (talk) 14:13, 19 June 2025 (UTC)
Degree development
It strikes me that this section is too heavily focused on the Degree-name controversy. Although this is an issue for our time, it is not the primary purpose of the article on HES, or even this section. Perhaps the section can either be moved lower in the page, below Degree Programs, which is certainly more central to the topic, or integrated into degree programs as a sub topic. I am going to go ahead and move the section, if anyone objects, feel free to move it back up in the article. Johndowning (talk) 14:29, 19 June 2025 (UTC)

I propose removing this link. The historical significance to HES seems a bit tenuous for a main level link. Perhaps it can be listed in notes or references if there is a relevant linking article? Johndowning (talk) 15:17, 19 June 2025 (UTC)
