Anyone speak Spanish? I think Verde is green but what is Oro? It would be nice if we could get a translation of the name of the ranch. Dismas 09:59, 14 May 2005 (UTC)Reply

Oro verde = "green gold". Dunno what that means, though. Hajor 13:29, 14 May 2005 (UTC)Reply
I do. The alfalfa grown from the land was her income, her "gold" if you will, along with the other assets produced on the ranch like the pigs. Keep in mind that cut alfalfa is hay, which is gold in color - "green gold" if you will to feed her beloved horses. --avnative 17:24, September 3, 2005 (UTC)

lol, I'm pretty certain it's not referring to pot, though with a character like Pancho who really knows? Perhaps it was coined for the alfalfa that she grew there? Was alfalfa ever a cash crop or anything? -Lommer | talk 00:58, 15 May 2005 (UTC)Reply

Alfalfa was probably a crop she had there at the ranch, which is typical horse feed. Dunno whether or not she ever sold it to the outside, though. . . it may have only been for her horses. Check out the Antelope Valley article for more on what the region Pancho lived in was and is like! --avnative 17:24, September 3, 2005 (UTC)

Ben 10

In the series Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, Season 2, episode 11 makes obvious (if obfuscated) references to the Riding Club as well. Most of the episode takes place in the US desert southwest, set during the JFK administration, and features an establishment called "Thunderclap Diner". Inside and out, it resembles the Riding Club as depicted in The Right Stuff, and there is a wall of photos behind the bar (which one presumes are deceased test pilots). The bartender therein resembles Pancho as in the movie, as well. It seems like a worthwhile mention for this article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:6C5E:700B:100:24D6:9FBF:3EBC:81B5 (talk) 23:14, 3 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Captain Marvel

In the movie, "Pancho's bar" is referenced in relation to test-piloting, see https://marvelcinematicuniverse.fandom.com/wiki/Pancho%27s_Bar Sundhaug92 (talk) 00:51, 25 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
