Template:WikiProject banner shell I think this would be C-Class if it had references. The info here is probably sufficient for most casual readers. --Doradus (talk) 01:07, 21 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

New figure showing gridiron effect with dice

File:Gridiron dice demo.svg
Demonstrate gridiron pendulum with dice. Remove one die from each green segment and two from the red and adjust. The total length is unchanged.

I propose this image for the article.--Guy vandegrift (talk) 16:47, 30 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

It is an ingenious demonstration, but it does only demonstrate the principle for the case where the expansion of the green rod is twice the expansion of the red. Also it might imply to general readers that the expansion or contraction only occurs in descrete jumps. On the other hand the page doesn't really have an illustration of how it works now. --ChetvornoTALK 00:16, 1 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
Template:Ping This figure is probably more suitable for a Wikiversity project. See v:Wright State University Lake Campus/2019-9/Gridiron pendulum--Guy vandegrift (talk) 20:43, 8 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
