Religion not mythology

Who called it mythology? It was their religion, their faith and their Gods the Greeks were praying to. It is wrong and unfair to call it mythology. 49.190.240.166 (talk) 06:16, 29 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

The ancient Greek peoples, like many other ancient peoples, had both a set of more or less common religious practices, rituals and beliefs, which we call their "religion" (see Ancient Greek religion) and a set of more or less common myths, stories, folklore, and legends, which we call their "mythology". The latter is what this article is about. While there is some not inconsiderable overlap between the two, they are considered to be distinct. So as regards "their religion" we are not as you assert calling it mythology. Paul August 12:01, 29 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Non-religious people often refer to Christian/Muslim/Jewish etc mythology in the same manner as Greek mythology, Norse mythology, etc. All religious beliefs/faiths are myths to non-believers or those who believe in other religions. greek mythology of Gods and Goddesses

I am looking for anything on the hierarchy of the Greek Gods and Goddesses 2601:800:C480:F640:4150:890:EF6F:505 (talk) 10:29, 4 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "hierarchy", but if you're referring to different types of gods, you might find what you're looking for at List of Greek deities. Or, if by "hierarchy" you mean "genealogy", Template:Section link runs through (with useful charts) the genealogy of the gods in one of the most important sources on Greek mythology, the Theogony. – Michael Aurel (talk) 10:49, 4 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
