Good job with that Jid. That actually makes the entry more coherent, thanks.

"For hard disk drive booting the Open Firmware requires an RDB boot partition that contains either an affs1 or ext2/ext3 partition."

affs1 should be "Fast File System" or simply "FFS". affs is the name used by the Linux kernel filesystem module. Considering that the majority of people using a Pegasos are running MorphOS and not Linux, it is more appropriate to use the term used by those people, FFS. "Genesi discontinued production of the Pegasos II in 2006, as the result of new European Union legislation requiring the use of more expensive and inferior lead-free solder,[3] imposed despite the fact that replacing normal solder delivers no environmental benefits.[4]"

This should be described from a more neutral point of view. 31.19.221.7 (talk) 12:42, 17 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Requested move 21 May 2025

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: moved. Unanimous agreement that the article should be moved away from its current title. Of the proposed targets, Genesi Pegasos received the most numerical support and the clearest policy rationale (based on WP:TITLECON and WP:NATURAL), leading me to find consensus for that title. PegasosGenesi PegasosGenesi Pegasos – or Template:-r or Template:-r or Template:-r or Template:-r. "Pegasos" is an alternative romanization of the Latin or Greek name for Pegasus. It is also the short name for the Pegasos Swiss Association, an assisted suicide association. It is also the name of a clinic that used a Sarco pod for an assisted suicide. According to The Times of India, it is also an alternative name for the Sarco pod itself (although I just deleted that claim from the Wikipedia article on the subject because it was not otherwise confirmed and I suspect it may be based on Wikipedia citogenesis). It is not primarily a brand of computer systems produced about two decades ago by a company I've never heard of before. Readership interest is higher for the Swiss association than for the computer brand, according to pageviews. — BarrelProof (talk) 19:14, 21 May 2025 (UTC) — Relisting. Jeffrey34555 (talk) 22:24, 28 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

  • Pegasos (computer) looks fine. I think disambiguation page for "Pegasos" is needed as probably neither of the mentioned articles is a primary topic there (I never heard about the other "Pegasos" subjects...). Pavlor (talk) 05:11, 22 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
In case it matters, it may be worth noting that I believe "Pegasos" was just the name of the internal components of these computers (i.e., the motherboard and its components) rather than the entire computer. The complete computers had other names or did not have names. One example of a complete computer built using a Pegasos motherboard is the Open Desktop Workstation. "Pegasos" was just what was inside the box, not the complete package. This might affect the desirability of "Template:-r" as a title. — BarrelProof (talk) 19:43, 22 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
Then Pegasos (mainboard). Although I call the entire computer on my desk "Pegasos" (and I could probably dig out older reviews with the same POV), it is of course (in the narrow sense of the word) only name of the mainboard. Pavlor (talk) 05:12, 23 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
Rename article to Genesi Pegasos and turn Pegasos into a disambiguation page. No primary topic here. wizzito | say hello! 19:42, 30 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
