Gungdo refers to the practice of archery. This article seems to be about the Korean bow, which is called the Gakgung. I think it needs to be renamed so it does not cause confusion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 104.2.169.144 (talk) 18:36, 22 September 2014 (UTC)
verb tense
"In Korea, the bow was used mainly as a military weapon."
As far as I'm aware, Korea still exists. Author is obviously referring to a specific, but unmentioned, timeframe. What is it? ~ Booyabazooka 02:42, 5 May 2005 (UTC)

Origin
The fact that water buffalo horn is the main component of gakgung points to its foreign origin. Water Buffalo likely refers to Yaks native to Mongolia and Tibet, as SE Asian water buffaloes are located too far away.
