Is there a reason why this article is not named just Fyodor Ushakov?

It's possibly for putting the full name, including the patronimic. ZealotKommunizma

Trafalgar and Ushakov

This article, and the Battle of Cape Kaliakra, mention that Ushakov used a maneuver there, that Nelson later used at the Nile and Trafalgar. Both instances provide no sources, or further details on the maneuver. My naval history might need some burshing up because I can't tell what that is, at Trafalgar he "crossed the t", and at the Nile he split into two columns to envelop and get some crossfire on the French. I'm not trying to be "anti-Russian", but I don't see any proof, and furthermore I doubt we need to attribute Nelson's use of whatever maneuver it is, to being learned from Ushakov (they apparently rarely interacted and didn't like each other much, I doubt Nelson would take anything from Ushakov). 174.112.18.193 (talk) 05:26, 30 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

What British pirates were operating in the mediterranean in the 18th century? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 159.221.184.10 (talk) 07:22, 2 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

British pirates in the Mediterranean? Complete nonsense. This should be deleted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Michaelhaag (talkcontribs) 14:44, 16 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

"British pirates in the Mediterranean?" "The first League of Armed Neutrality was an alliance of European naval powers between 1780 and 1783 which was intended to protect neutral shipping against the Royal Navy's wartime policy of unlimited search of neutral shipping for French contraband... The Russian navy dispatched three squadrons to the Mediterranean, Atlantic, and North Sea to enforce this decree"

I agree that the "pirates" too emotional judgments. Nevertheless, Ushakov participated in the defense of Russian shipping from the British Royal Navy in the Mediterranean ```` — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shagrad (talkcontribs) 20:30, 22 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
