I've read that in the Japanese version, the "bananas" are drugs or something of that nature, makeing it seem not so rediculous. Anyone confirm or deny? It's be worth adding to the article. Melodia Chaconne 9 July 2005 18:40 (UTC)

I've heard they were "Opium", but that it went through Nintendo's old censorship policy. If I can find a good source to cite, I'll add it. You (Talk) July 9, 2005 19:27 (UTC)

I added various bits of information to the article for purposes of expansion and elaboration. --John Arlington.

I can help out with adding content. Also, what is the Reception section used for? --Amuseum 21:27, 6 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

So, is it possible to defeat Venus with just monsters or not? The description of the race first says its impossible and then goes on to explain how to beat the quirk in the game that supposedly makes an all monster team a bad idea. --Ryuukuro 19:30, 30 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

It is very easy to beat the game with all monsters provided you understand how the evolution functions work and which monsters to keep. I have created a comprehensive site on FFL2 that explains how the monsters work and even a javascript calculator that will determine what monsters you get based on what meat you eat. http://sagez.net/amuseum/ffl2/ Perhaps this should be added as another external link on the main page. --Amuseum 21:27, 6 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

It is possible. I changed the term "impossible" to "difficult" to avoid confusion. --John Arlington.

In the hands of a very experienced player, an all-monster party is almost always more powerful than all-human or all-mutant parties. Because of how the evolution algorithm works, you can have your monsters always two to four 'levels' above the monsters in your current world. Also you don't need to spend much time training your stats like humans and mutants do just to catch up--since you're almost aways ahead. For instance, you can get a Sprite early on in Ashura world. The first time you encounter a Sprite is in Venus world, which is still six worlds away. In other words, while your human and mutant counterparts continue to train very hard just to catch up, your monsters don't have to evolve again until six worlds later. --Amuseum 21:27, 6 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wow, this page just got neutered. It once had decent amount of content like other FF articles. Now, just a few glancing paragraphs. Not unlike the reception of the SaGa series in general. Ironically, read the sections at the top about the "attempt to build a comprehensive and detailed guide to Final Fantasy on Wikipedia." --Amuseum (talk) 21:14, 24 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Product information

Along with an instruction book of some sorts, there was also a page that described the use, cost, etc. of all of the weapons. I seem to recall it was one fold-out sheet. Does anyone have this scanned in at all to make available?

I would question the use of such an image in here, as including it feels a bit too much of a game-guide purpose to me. As from what I recall (my memory is shady on this, however), the information presented on the sheet is only of use to people who already have the game. However, it might be worth mentioning that such a sheet came with the game, if you can find a reference (while I used to have the game and know that such a sheet was included, I'm guessing it'd be original research to put it in here without a citation). --Thunderbird8 (talk) 17:09, 30 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

We need to fix this article

It was once full of good information, and had a decent article that had interesting and verifiable information. Now it has been cut down to a few short paragraphs that provide very little information. We need to restore the list of the Worlds at the very least. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Electricbassguy (talkcontribs) 03:13, 15 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

I looked at the world list, and there were a handful of inaccuracies with the story, and the English version of the game had different names for several of the worlds listed. IMO, if the world list is restored, the names from the English version of the game should be used, where available. Also, a blanket revert to a previous version is not the answer, as it did more than put the world list in. --Thunderbird8 (talk) 17:25, 18 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

DS remake

As it has been announced, we have to discuss this. If it does not get its own article, then we should change the name of the title to the name of the DS remake, as it's now the accepted new name. But if it splits, this article will probably never meet FA quality. Comments? - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! lolwut? Final Fantasy Legend II is the English title of the game. Awesone (talk) 12:16, 8 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
And what will happen when it comes out on the DS? It will likely be released in the US. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! Now, he can figure out the length of things easily. 16:31, 8 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
So, you want to change the name of the article now because of a potential chance that might possibly occurs some time in the future? Awesone (talk) 09:51, 9 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Firstly, I think you need to be reminded that this is a discussion on a potential name change, not a heated debate on global terrorism. You need to provide a little more discussion and a lot less "go totally insane". To repeat, as it turns out, this is a minor thing, not a major thing, and participants should react as such.
Secondly, I'm kind of lost - I see that you brought up the notion of changing the name now. Strange that you would be the only one to bring this up at all. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! Now, he can figure out the length of things easily. 07:09, 22 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Does anyone know if the remake will be released in english? It's now been over a year since the remake was released in Japan, I'm starting to wonder if we're going to get the new version. — Odin_son 16:23, 18 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Translation

The game was initially translated in Tokyo, and due to poor quality Square's American sales department tried and improve upon it. However due to different people re-translating different parts of the script, the quality and prose of the translation were inconsistent.

The source given for this is about Final Fantasy II (aka Final Fantasy IV on the SNES, which had an infamously horrendous translation), not Final Fantasy Legend II (aka SaGa 2). I'm removing it until a suitable source can be found stating that the same thing happened here. -DMAJohnson (talk) 14:55, 19 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

GA Nomination?

Would anyone mind if I nominated this article for Good Article status? It seems really good, but if any significant contributors have thoughts I’d love to hear it. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 16:33, 6 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
