Filmmaking

I really don't get why "Filmmaking" in the first sentence in the intro, or first paragraph of the page has to be bolded. I noticed a lot of other bolded words and I did not get what it was meant for. Can someone please tell me why and change it?

The title word or phrase of every Wikipedia article should be in boldface per MOS:BOLD.—Anita5192 (talk) 17:31, 4 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Source Citation

Hi, I'm new here and all, but I think my biggest contribution to this website can be in the filmmaking articles. The biggest problem when it comes to writing about the "business" end, such as the stages of filmmaking, etc. has been source citation. There are too many educational film books and websites, both old and new, that give standard and pretty unbiased definitions and explanations for these topics. I have plenty, so I'll do my best to conflate all these different sources into one standard explanation. Open to discussion on this. Cheers! Tuxedoguy (talk) 03:15, 10 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Challenging major revisions on 21 December 2020 to Development section

User:SeriousTalkTalk6077, an apparent WP:SPA, made drastic revisions to the Development section on 21 December 2020 which were not sourced.

Here is how the article looked like on 16 December 2020, and here is how it looked like on 21 December 2020 after those drastic revisions.

Over the ensuing four and a half years, various editors have attempted to clean up the Development section but it is still almost entirely unsourced garbage. No one has bothered to add any sources, probably because the Development section as written appears to be largely detached from "real world" film development as described in books and magazine articles on filmmaking (e.g., Kelly C. Crabb's book). The books I have found on filmmaking (e.g., Focal Press and CRC Press) describe a very different development process.

I propose to revert that section to the last good version on 16 December 2020 and then to start adding sources to bolster that earlier text, which is closer to how film development actually works. Any objections? Coolcaesar (talk) 15:53, 5 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

The books you cited seem like reputable sources. I would encourage you to proceed.—Anita5192 (talk) 17:07, 5 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
