Is this the right place for the full text of the Federal Charter of 1291? diwiki 22:23, 12 Sep 2003 (UTC)

moreover, the translation was pulled from here without reference. http://www.admin.ch/ch/e/schweiz/bundesbrief/ it dates to 1933 (Source: The Origin of the Swiss Confederation Section 1, Document Volume 1, Aarau, 1933) and may be copyrighted. dab 12:32, 23 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Also, "Letter of Alliance", "Eternal League" etc. seem to be ad-hoc translations from the German that are not actually in use. The proper term is "Federal Charter", or "Foedus Pactum". dab 12:35, 23 Sep 2004 (UTC)

What does Bundesschwur Zuerich.jpg do on this page? Which Bundesbrief is shown? I would think that it's the one that sealed the alliance of Zurich with the other four cantons (Uri, Schwyz, Unterwalden, and Lucerne). (Note that there are many Bundesbriefe, basically one for each canton that joined! But there is only one "federal charter", which refers to the "original" document of uncertain provenance between Uri, Schwyz, and Unterwalden.) Lupo 11:39, 20 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

I've now removed the image. It clearly shows a Bundesbrief with four seals. This is not the Federal Charter of 1291 and only reinforces my comment above. Lupo 15:02, 19 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
