Greece orders FDI frigates instead of FREMM

Greece ordered three FDI HN frigates from France. The export version of the FDI is called Belharra by the Naval Group (used to be DCNS) [1] [2]--Germsteel (talk) 00:31, 5 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

FREMM dimensions

The French Navy website has the Fremm listed as "Length - 140m", "Width - 20m", "Displacement - 5000 tons" Where did the different stats come from?

From the DCN [1]. Rama 12:54, 4 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

I am guessing that the document on the French Navy website was outdated. --Ken Johnson 01:25, 5 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

I have fixed the datas on the first French order, they said 6 frigates were ordered with 7 listed. I corrected to 8 frigates ordered and updated the list with the missing one (the Auvergne, between the Bretagne and the Languedoc). Here is the source for the datas: http://www.meretmarine.com/bateauclasse.cfm?classeid=30

The greek shipyard in Eleusis will take part in the project.The greek navy has a programme for building six new frigates.Nlkrio 04:48, 26 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

PA2 = less FREMM?

I don't know if it's worth mentionning but some elements of the french press believe that the navy won't have the ressources to buy it's full alotment of FREMMs if the country decides to procede with PA2. Some have said as few as 10 FREMMs/FREDA could be bought to afford the carrier (imho thats an unlikely figure, if there are to be cuts it might be the second batch of 4 or the last batch of 5). Anyway, time will tell... Daft, 17:47, 1 November 2007

Greece never ordered or announced to buy any FREMM

Greece never ordered any FREMM ! defencenet.gr is not a reliable source.There is also no negotiations about it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.245.168.156 (talk) 03:17, 27 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Actually, the Greeks were negotiating with DCNS about procuring six multi-purpose frigates, two outright plus an option to get the other four in 2009, the deal fell through during the Greek financial crisis. --97.92.13.211 (talk) 17:18, 30 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
