"...the exarch...was the representative at Ravenna of the Patriarch of Constantinople..." — shouldn't that be of the Emperor? m.e. 09:23, 30 Jul 2004 (UTC)
- I think that's right. Wetman 11:03, 30 Jul 2004 (UTC)
Some errors:
- "After this reconquest it became the seat of the provincial governor." "Provincial governor" -> "Praetorian Prefect" (Italy was one of the four praetorian prefectures, not a province).
- "The exarchate was organised into a group of duchies (i.e the Duchy of Rome, Duchy of Venetia, Duchy of Calabria, Lucania, Spoleto etc)". Spoleto should be removed, since it was a lombard duchy.
- in the list of exarchs Eutichius is reported to have ruled between 728 and 752. However Ravenna (and the Exarchate) fell to the Lombards in 751!!!--79.26.11.175 (talk) 22:55, 2 June 2010 (UTC)Michele from Italy.
Of Italy?
How is the Exarchate of Ravenna known as the Excharate of Italy?Mk5384 (talk) 10:31, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
exharchate section needs sources
Seems to be either quoting source materials or a personalized summation, it has almost no sources. may need to be cleaned up for tone and accuracy. Schnurrfles (talk) 18:28, 16 August 2016 (UTC)sch
