Script error: No such module "protected edit request". An essay is, generally, a piece of writing that gives the author's own argument — but the definition is vague, overlapping with those of a letter, a paper, an article, a pamphlet, and a short story. Essays have traditionally been sub-classified as formal and informal. Formal essays are characterized by "serious purpose, dignity, logical organization, length," whereas the informal essay is characterized by "the personal element (self-revelation, individual tastes and experiences, confidential manner), humor, graceful style, rambling structure, unconventionality or novelty of theme," etc.[1] 71.67.140.112 (talk) 22:34, 9 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

The article seems to have maintained a steady neutral tone throughout its entirety. The page's writer establishes a clear, neutral stance on the construction of an essay and the varieties there are. The article's points are consistent with the article's topic. JJAlex22 (talk) 04:02, 2 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
