see Root_mean_square, basicallly RMS is the average voltage and is the value used when calculating power. It is almost always the value used when quoting AC voltages. --Ali@gwc.org.uk 20:24, 20 Jul 2004 (UTC)

No, it shouldn't be renamed. Non-American content should be added. The trouble is that it is difficult to do so without duplicating the content in my Mains power plug article.
