Add A Fact: "Edward Said's childhood in Cairo"
I found a fact that might belong in this article. See the quote below
, but he actually spent much of his childhood in Cairo, Egypt, sometimes traveling to Jerusalem to spend time with relatives, or to Beirut, Lebanon.
The fact comes from the following source:
Here is a wikitext snippet to use as a reference:

My Beautiful Old House” and other Fabrications by Edward Said
“My Beautiful Old House” and other Fabrications by Edward Said – Commentary Magazine Very fascinating and rigorous review of Edward Said false narrative about his life including his claiming to go to a school in Jerusalem that he didn't and claiming to be good friends with someone in the class who says he never knew him. 2601:647:5900:17E0:D4E9:B4BC:1CE3:C719 (talk) 04:07, 20 April 2025 (UTC)
- This has previously been discussed on this talk page. There is a paragraph about this in Said's French wiki-bio. Responses from Said, The Guardian, The New Republic, Slate, Christopher Hitchens and Alexander Cockburn are given there. Burrobert (talk) 05:52, 20 April 2025 (UTC)
Edward Said didn’t go to Victoria college alexandria
Based on his book "Out of Place" he mentions clearly that he went to Cairo VC and not alexandria VC , and he distinctly never went to school with King Hussein of Jordan "When i entered victoria college in the autumn of 1949, aged almost fourteen, i was also nearing the last two years of my life in Cairo" Page 179 "Cairo VC was an altogether less posh school than its Alexandria parent, which had been in existence for three decades and had much more imposing roster of students (King Hussein of Jordan, among others) and matters, and a very handsome spread of buildings and playing fields in the great Mediterranean summer capital. Our Shubra campus was makeshift,…." Page 181

The Motherland image
An image of The Motherland is included in post-colonial studies section. While it is possible that the painting is a metaphor for colonialism, the painting itself is probably not a focus of post-colonial studies, and including it here is misleading/inappropriate.
