POV?

The sentence:

"The real abuse was on the part of the Doukhobor community that failed to educate their children other than to drill into them government conspiracy theories and train them to commit acts of violence towards their own families and community members (through well documented bombings and acts of arson)", seems obviously to be biased. 24.36.78.185 (talk) 05:13, 4 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Moved Veganism and Vegetarian template, added new one

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have moved the Veganism and Vegetarian template to the new "Food" section, since I think that it deserves to be in a section of it's own. I also added a template called "Immigration". DoggieTimesTwo (talk) 20:57, 4 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Copyedit comments

  • Sourcing issues: some unsourced content
  • Inconsistent referencing style (cs1 vs. cs2 styles: pick one)
  • References in lead distract the reader
  • Confusing topical and temporal order in the lead. I suggest having one short paragraph about origins/history and a separate one on religious beliefs.
  • No section in the body for their religious beliefs

I am abandoning this copyedit, may return if these problems are fixed. (t · c) buidhe 20:13, 21 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, will try to fix these. 🐶 EpicPupper (he/him | talk) 20:16, 21 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Move "Nudism and arson" to new "Sons of Freedom" page

  1. Sub-heading Nudism and arson belongs in a new Sons of Freedom Wikipedia page, to be created. These words (nudism, arson, and bombing) defamed the 100K+ descendants of Canadian Doukhobors since 1902, mainly the current USCC Doukhobors, and Independent Doukhobors (Facebook) in Canada. Many others changed their Russian surnames and/or moved to disassociated from the persistent identity confusion in the West Kootenays, British Columbia, Canada, spread by misinformed journalists, scholars and government. This will also correct the errors with using References 51 VictoriaDaily1930, 52 OaklandTribune1934, and 62 Holt.
  2. Doukhobors are not Sons of Freedom (Freedomites). There is a Wikipedia page for Freedomites ("neutrality ... disputed") but not under the much more popular term Sons of Freedom (a.k.a. Freedomites), which is overdue for creation. And the Freedomites page deals too heavily with 2 separate interconnected topics — Operation Snatch and the New Denver Survivors Collective — about ~200 jailed and abused Sons of Freedom children in the 1950s, and less than 100 of them as adults in the 2000s who successfully sued the Canadian government for child abuse.
  3. In "Further reading" these 4 are about Sons of Freedom, not Doukhobors: Cran (2006), Holt (1964), Makarova (2013), Sorokin (1990).
  4. An accurate Wikipedia page for Sons of Freedom was needed decades ago because journalists, scholars, government, the public, and now AI generated searches often refer to Wikipedia for a quick overview which is currently wrong, which contributes to misinformation.
  5. There is no See also section heading.
