"The Mission"

I wonder if this scene from the movie "The Mission", where Jesuit missionaries let a native South American boy sing "Ave Maria" (to show the others hoe human these supressed people are) is actually a little reference to Domenico Zipoli? Fulcher (talk) 03:50, 29 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have no doubt. Even Gabriel's Oboe sounds similar to Zipoli's Elevazione. Kortoso (talk) 19:50, 10 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
Haha: "Three sections of the 'Mission opera' San Ignacio de Loyola – compiled by Martin Schmid in Chiquitos many years after Zipoli's death, and preserved almost complete in local sources – have been attributed to Zipoli." Kortoso (talk) 03:02, 29 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
