I had never realised for the capitalized letters. This is wrong yes. The first problem is this biome encompass much more than simple desert. So putting any description of xeric shrublands in the desert article would not been quite right. The second problem with it is that biome is used in the wikiproject to describe the 800 or so ecoregions. This biome is actually one of the key *defining* the ecoregions. if you remove the key, the description is no more accurate. It is a classification key. Do you see what I mean ? This said I agree the information is likely to be redundant with desert. But I don't think people would agree redirecting desert to this page either. Idea ? ant

I also think this article should focus more on what defines this biome, while the desert article could focus more on the different types of deserts plus examples as now

Hi. If you open this page with Chrome, the info boxes run over each other. I don't think it is a Chrome issue, because I've opened hundreds of WP pages with Chrome before and it is the first time that I see this. Largest biome?

Using measurements from this site http://www.wilds.mb.ca/taiga/tbsfaq.html (taiga land area) and this site http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Land (total land area), I found that the Taiga covers approximately 11% of the Earth's land surface. This is less than the 19% claimed for Deserts and xeric shrublands. I don't have access to Lockwood, M. Managing Protected Areas: A Global Guide in order to verify the numbers used for the Deserts and xeric shrublands page.--216.8.167.243 (talk) 19:47, 2 January 2015 (UTC)

Reporting error under "Ecoregions" header

• The Chihuahuan desert and Central Mexican matorral are the richest deserts in the Neotropics.
