I'm not sure about the following:
'Overall cuts will see personnel levels drop from 108,500 to 102,000 - this compares to a total strength of 255,000 prior to the 1993 Options for Change cuts.'
Is this a confusion between current British Army strength (before/after former) and overall armed services 1993 strength (latter)?
I can't find an accurate, modern overall figure anywhere. :Clue

These look like Army-only numbers.
FYI, the total strengths of the UK Armed Forces at 1st April 2000 were: - Royal Navy 42,900 (including 5,900 Royal Marines) - Army 110,100 - RAF 54,700 for a total of 207,700 regular personnel.
The overall Defence total, including civilians and locally engaged personal, and possibly including reservists, was 349,800 at that date, including 115,100 civilians. For comparison, the overall Defence total ten years earlier (1990) was 487,000. --Vvmodel (talk) 14:39, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
