Link with Pele

I seem to recall there is some quote from / interview with Pele about Scottish footballers that is more than complimentary about DC. Can't seem to find it anywhere on the web. Any ideas anyone? BTW, DC is 'officially' the 2nd greatest footballer of all time. ;-) Let's start a campaign to rename a London bridge the 'Jim Baxter Bridge' -- Cactus.man > Reply  11:59, 7 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Talk:Davie Cooper/GA1

Souness quote from Sky Sports MNF

"I had a guy called Davie Cooper at [Rangers F.C.]... If you're just talking raw ability -- Davie Cooper would be up there" - Graeme Souness on best players he ever managed.

I think this would be nice to include in legacy, or from his stint with Rangers.

Apologies for not doing the hard work myself and updating the article directly, but I think I would only create more work since I do not know all the protocol surrounding using youtube as a source. For reference, it's from Sky Sports's own youtube channel rebroadcasting its own programme so I cannot imagine there are any problems here? The timestamp included in the following URL drops you shortly before where he mentions Cooper.

Template:Reply to Hi Geoffrey George. I’ve looked into using YouTube as a source and although this would be quite a good addition to his legacy, the coverage of Cooper’s talents online is widely available through other (print) media, which is much easier to format as references and less likely to be pulled for being unreliable. There’s a bit from Souness in the section “Motherwell” and I’m sure there’s more out there! From what I’ve seen, the options for citing video interviews are limited for a relatively short quote from GS. Just my thoughts, but any further contributions you can make to Davie’s article would be great! Andrew Henderson (talk) 17:56, 8 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Club stats

I'd have thought a club stats table would be desirable if not essential for GA. If nobody else wants to do it I'll attempt it soon, I can get most of those from the Bankies archive and Fitbastats (Rangers), Motherwell might be trickier (motherwellnet only has a total) but I'll have a look around. Template:Reply to That would be great! I did think about that when I nominated it but I must admit I’ve never made a stats table! Andrew Henderson (talk) 12:55, 30 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
