- No, I don't think so. Maybe you're thinking of David Wells, who also pitched a perfect game for the Yankees in the late 90's? I know Wells is a controversial player, but I do not think that Cone is (was).
Yes, there was contorversy...an accused rape charge among other things I believe.
-It wasn't an accused rape charge, it was something like public indecedency or public lewdness or whatever the charge is when you "flash" a lady in the stands during warm-ups before the game. It was early in his Mets career.
There is no discussion about his aneursym here. That was a major part of his career.
He had a pretty good batting average for a pitcher. I remember when he was with the Blue Jays they made sure to pitch him on "NL rules" days in the World Series because he could hit.
