Just as the dinosaur they were named by those that discovered them. That does not mean that they came with a name tag and that is what they were called in their day buy those that would have called them. So as other animals found in the americas. c-14 is fualty they have dated live trees at 10,000 years old which were not. so do these paleontologists really know what they are talking about. it is more of a sciencists political theory tool.
