Fischer?

From the article:

The genus was described by Fischer in 1828.

Who is "Fischer"? Neilc 04:54, 12 Mar 2005 (UTC)

The scientist who scientifically desribed the taxon.
In botanical nomenclature, name of the person who described
the taxon is important part of the taxon's name. For example
the full name of the first species is written as
 C. spiralis (Retzius) Wydler - Retzius being in () because
he described it in a wrong genus. It was reclassified by Wydler
after Fischer described the genus Cryprocoryne Fischer ;) --Kyknos 10:27, 18 Mar 2005 (UTC)

taxonomy

the taxonomy of the Crypts is complicated and in dispute. Where possible I have followed the suggestions of Jacobsen and the Crypts pages site by Jan D. Bastmeijer [1] rather than Rataj's, mainly because I am more familiar with it, and generally it seems to be more accepted amongst Crypt enthusiasts. Hermeswiki 17:31, 12 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

citation

I have added a citation to a reference for the taxonomy of this plant. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Driletown (talkcontribs) 20:02, 11 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Questionable species listed

Hello, the following taxa are mentioned under the species, however I could not find anything in the literature surrounding these species, only a few youtube videos showing the supposed species. Furthermore, all of the other species listed in this article can be found in the Kew World Checklist of Selected Plant Families listed in the reference section, so I'm not sure where these species are coming from. It is also curious that all these species are prescribed to the same author. All the aforementioned youtube videos are all on one account as well... potential WP:CONFLICT issue?

Cryptocoryne kobayashii Yosuke Kobayashi. - West Kalimantan, Indonesia

Cryptocoryne renifolius Yosuke Kobayashi. - West Kalimantan, Indonesia

Cryptocoryne ochiaii Yosuke Kobayashi - Peninsular Malaysia

Cryptocoryne nurii var. tamannegaraensis Yosuke Kobayashi - Peninsular Malaysia

Cryptocoryne huluensis Yosuke Kobayashi - West Kalimantan

Cryptocoryne diabolicus Yosuke Kobayashi. - West Kalimantan, Indonesia

Cryptocoryne crispatula var. alba Yosuke Kobayashi. - Thai, Laos

Cryptocoryne cordata var. natunensis Yosuke Kobayashi. - Natuna Island

Cryptocoryne cordata var. brunneus Yosuke Kobayashi. - Central Kalimantan, South Kalimantan

I'll leave this list here incase someone can provide more information as to their validity, in which case they should be returned to the article, but until then I have removed them from the list. Ekmek the fig (talk) 00:14, 5 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
