"It hasn't been taken seriously by big teams [...]"

Template:FYI In reality it's not only that less important teams used to play the competition. The big teams did play the competition several times, but they usually preferred to send their reserve squads (eg: by reserve squds I mean the players that usually didn't play the national league competition). São Paulo in 1994 was the biggest example of this policy and they were surprisingly successul as they eventually won the title.PMLF 17:49, 17 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Copa Conmebol

As a matter of fact, only São Paulo, in 1994, among all teams, used reserve squads in this Competition. But in 1994 São Paulo was also playing the "Libertadores da América", the most important South-American competition, since São Paulo was the 1993 champion. That´s the reason why São Paulo opted for his second team. — Preceding unsigned comment added by EDF (talkcontribs) 21:58, 2 May 2005 (UTC)Reply

Concepción clubs

Club Deportivo Universidad de Concepción and Deportes Concepción are not the same club. It was Deportes Concepción that reached 1999 Copa CONMEBOL semifinals, not Universidad de Concepción. In the Spanish-language Wikipedia there is one article for each club:

I fixed the wikilink to reflect what I wrote above. Carioca 03:08, 5 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Copa Conmebol

Look at the winning teams of the cup (Sao Paulo, Santos, Botafogo, Atlético Mineiro, Rosario Central) and the runners up (Olimpia, Peñarol, Independiante Santa Fe) and tell me: ¿Are they little teams?... And let´s see the participants in a few editons of this cup: América de Cali, Barcelona de Ecuador, Corinthians, Gremio, Palmeiras, Colo Colo, Vasco da Gama, San Lorenzo, Universidad de Chile, and the list continues... Mmmmmm... The person who says that the cup was played by little teams and not the bigger continent´s teams doesn´t know anything about football.

Bye. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.122.75.87 (talk) 22:42, 15 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
