Plea technicality
Wait.... What about plea (which is extremely important)? The signing of some "consent decree's" automatically pleas one guilty. ie - a "stalkign order agreement"— Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.227.219.179 (talk) 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Are consent decrees used (whether or not so called) in English law? I'm English and have never heard of them outside the US, but I may just be ignorant! 86.136.251.18 04:14, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

- No, "guilty plea" is relevant in criminal cases, not civil ones where "consent decree" is relevant. Technicality? Yes. Yes, consent decrees are used in many US Federal cases, and many are in effect at any one moment, some of them concerning police departments.
