Talk:Clinton Global Initiative
Just a comment - I am curious as to whether anyone intends to expand this article. I believe this is going to develop into a huge issue over time. For instance, I saw in one article that as many as 300 CEOs attended the meeting. Companies such as Google, HP, and Microsoft donated a minimum of $250,000 each to these efforts, which evidently raised promises of over $1B and 100,000 volunteer manhours.
Examples of the sort of support being raised would range from that of the legal group that has offered to the initiative's members several of its staff for open-ended international legal support on a pro bono basis to promises to help offset the environmental impact of the meeting itself. The list of participants is interesting, the potential effect on society is large, etc. There is a lot already going on and I can only believe that it will grow as Bill Clinton works this.
All of this being extra-governmental and trans-national in nature, makes it a very unique phenomenon.
Anyone interested?

- I think you're right that the founding of what it appears will become a significant international institution has rather slipped under the public radar. There is a lot of information at the official website that we can work from.--Pharos 04:40, 22 September 2005 (UTC)
