when did this article turn into a non smoking ad?
the entire opening section after the first paragraph basically reads like one big nonsmoking ad, listing nothing but the negative effects of cigarettes and how "bad" they are for your health..
shouldnt an article open up with a general blurb or two about the main topic (the opening text above the two images seems sufficient) and then have all the specific health related risks/concerns that are listed below the images in their own subsection?
especially since there is already a subsection titled: "health effects" that contains such a ridiculously detailed breakdown of all the negative aspects of smoking, it basically makes the information after that first opening paragraph redundant.
it just doesnt seem as though it reads like a "normal" article with all that negativity being listed in the opening and then listed again in its own subsection.
i know it really doesnt matter what i think, and if i remove it somebody will just revert it.. so thats why i came here first to point out how "extra" it all seems, in hopes of someone taking another look at it and either dealing with it or getting back to me, probably with an elaborate yet somehow valid explanation as to why it "needs" to be that way.
thanks in advance. Snarevox (talk) 19:29, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
- nvm i found a decent reason in WP:LEAD
- thx anyway. Snarevox (talk) 15:33, 30 November 2022 (UTC)
- I was coming here to say this. The article is biased probably cause only nonsmokers edited it. PuppyMonkey (talk) 01:25, 20 May 2023 (UTC)

- "most common" presumably meaning American English. The article is written in American English though so it may be worth putting a tag on the talk page clarifying that. 153.246.179.159 (talk) 04:26, 25 October 2024 (UTC)

Do Cigarettes Expire?
No, cigarettes do not expire but instead go stale after a year or two. However people who use cigarettes do indeed expire. SophieFoster1629 (talk) 20:55, 22 February 2025 (UTC)
