  • Actually, I don't even see him mentioned on that page, other than a footnote in which his name was misspelled ("Langston" -- I've corrected this). Perhaps that material has been removed? Title of Alife 1

The article claims the field began with the first International Conference on the Synthesis and Simulation of Living Systems.

I was there as an invited speaker, and as I recall, it was titled

The First International Workshop on the Synthesis and Simulation of Living Systems.

Two birthyears?

Sources seem to flip between saying either 1948 or 1949. Where does this come from? Is it possible he was simply born on the strike of midnight on December 31th, 1948? 2A02:A446:7A20:0:54C3:FED:D3E8:985D (talk) 20:42, 21 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
