Splitting proposal

I propose that the Cultural Status section be split into a separate page called Cultural impact of Christina Aguilera. The content of the section is only marginally related to the main article, and this section is large and well-sourced enough to make its own page. The page itself is getting a lot longer as well so I definitely feel that we would benefit from this. Would also be pretty easy to move some of the achievement section to the page as well to lessen the weight of this page. Thoughts from anyone? Maxwell King123321 22:26, 20 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I looked at the reference for that and I see that the source is actually already there, it is in number 27 under references.
27. "Goldstein, Rob (May 15, 1999). "Dreaming of Genie". Yahoo! Music. Archived from the original on April 1, 2007. Retrieved April 30, 2023."
If you visit that website link that is in number 27, the info is on there and can be found easily. This is the specific sentence where it says quoted: "The New Mickey Mouse Club featured other aspiring young stars like Britney Spears, Justin and JC from 'N Sync, and Felicity's Keri Russell". JC from 'N Sync is JC Chasez.
And here is that website link in the number 27 source just in case: https://web.archive.org/web/20070401032341/http://music.yahoo.com/read/interview/12043048

Script error: No such module "protected edit request". Please change Christina Aguilera's picture. It's insulting that out of all the gorgeous images of her, some chose to use Wikipedia to represent her with one of the worst pictures of her. It comes off as just rude and mean spirited. Please fix it. 66.113.20.9 (talk) 08:58, 21 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

File:X mark.svg Not done Unless you can find another free and clear quality photo, then by all means, start a discussion to have it changed. No one is being "rude and mean spirited" here. This is the best recent free and clear quality photo on the site. While recent is not a requirement, Aguilera has multiple different looks over the years (black hair for Stripped, purple highlights for Lotus, etc.). Her being blonde is probably the best option and most recognisable for her. There is nothing to "fix" as the photo is copyright free and of clear quality. Albums chronology

In her official store, Liberation is stated as the sixth studio album by Aguilera. Maybe it's because of two previous albums, Mi Reflejo and My Kind of Christmas. So should we change Liberation's number from eight to six? Camilasdandelions (talk!) 14:24, 22 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

That link doesn't display anything on the album when I clicked it, instead giving me an 404 error, and regardless that definitely is her eighth overall album. There is no good reason to ignore Mi Riflejo or My Kind of Christmas when counting Christina's releases. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 21:39, 22 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
@SNUGGUMS: My bad. Here's the link. Camilasdandelions (talk!) 21:56, 22 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
Christina has always referred to Stripped as her sophomore, but it doesn't make it her sophomore album. If we didn't count Mi Riflejo or My Kind of Christmas then we'd have to do the same for multiple artists who have Latin language albums (and Christmas ones), but wouldn't make sense, especially since some artists ONLY release Latin language albums, etc. Stripped is her fourth release in the form of a studio album. Maxwell Smart123321 22:20, 22 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Maxwell Smart123321 Hi, yes, but maybe you know what happened on Lady Gaga's album counting. There's still no consensus about her album countings, because Gaga considers The Fame Monster as one of her studio albums and she doesn't regard her two collaborative albums with Tony Bennet as her studio albums. So we decided to not to put a number on articles, until the consensus ends.
So, I think we can make exceptions like that case too. I know, Mi Reflejo and My Kind of Christmas are Aguilera's studio albums, but most medias may not consider them as studio because the singer doesn't. By the way, if the singer considers their spanish albums or holiday albums as their studio albums, then it's totally fine. Camilasdandelions (talk!) 22:51, 22 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
For what it's worth, she hasn't consistently tried to downplay such albums. The earliest acknowledgement I could find was from a February 2000 interview with The Washington Post. This appears to be before their titles were publicly announced as I'm sure they otherwise would've been mentioned by name. Either way, Ms. Aguilera was revealed six months later to be talking about making an album in Spanish prior to recording her self-titled debut album in English. That September, she mentions wanting to make her grandparents proud with the former and there's mentions of wanting to put out the Christmas record during December (which ended up coming out a couple months ahead of that). Furthermore, recording her 2022 Aguilera album (another Spanish-language release) was partially due to wanting to make a Spanish follow-up for Mi Reflejo. With all of this in mind, it makes no sense to pretend like that and My Kind of Christmas don't exist or somehow count for nothing. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 02:40, 23 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
In her official website, Stripped is stated as her fourth studio album, and even stated as "third english album". So I'm sure that Aguilera (or her managers) recongnizes those albums, but the main problem is that the upon link I sent states Liberation as sixth studio album, which CANNOT be understandable. (I would understand if they stated Stripped as second. Their views are truly mixed right now.)
So I suggest to remove album numberings from Back to Basics (next to Stripped) to her latest album Aguilera. The main purpose of this is to reduce confuses among wiki readers. Camilasdandelions (talk!) 03:54, 23 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
That discrepancy is quite odd, and it's hard to say how this occurred. Nevertheless, as much as I understand wanting to reduce confusion, taking out counts altogether from some pages sounds like a misguided way to avoid errors. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 12:24, 23 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

Article states she dated him until September 2021, but the linked source says 2001. 178.24.252.240 (talk) 02:21, 15 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
