Wondering how to edit this U.S. County Entry?
The WikiProject U.S. Counties standards might help.
"Spread out"
I find the phrase population was "spread out" clunky. "Distributed by age" may not be perfect, but not nearly as clunky. Student7 (talk) 12:02, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
Counties that may have formerly been part of Chittenden County
The 1790 census list of towns in Chittenden County also contains the towns of Franklin County, Grand Isle County, and Lamoille County. Were these counties once part of Chittenden County? Someone the Person (talk) 20:40, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
- There were originally a small number of counties, maybe two, in Vermont, which got split up several times over the next 30 years or so, until they reached (roughly) their current boundaries. Yes. That history should be included here, even though it is essentially the history of a good chunk of Vermont in 1790.Student7 (talk) 23:06, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
- Just adding that the original Chittenden County also included the western parts of Orleans and Washington counties. --Polaron | Talk 21:07, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
