Is Chitina a ghost town?
I'd say so; I live 20 miles from it. It's an abandoned mining town. There is a tiny Native village up on a hill, separate from the ghost town.

Gail Niebrugge calls a painting "The Ghost Town of Chitina."

Actually, when I was growing up and visited there most summers from some time in the 1950s to the late 1970s, I can remember pictures of ghosts painted on some of the buildings.
