It would have been instructive to have a racial/ethnic breakdown of the data, as this would enhance accurate analysis of the impact of race in the ordinary everyday lives of the residents of this community, as well as facilitate culturally specific gender analysis. This calls for a multi-disciplinary approach and a movement away from traditional Western paradigms of analysis.
