Removed Buzzard Roost as Name

Cherokee was never named Buzzard Roost. The Buzzard Roost post office was originally located near Buzzard Roost creek where Barton Hall is located. I have pictures of the old Buzzard Roost post office but never had time to publish anything on it. Cherokee started out as an Indian agency near Malone Creek. I will fill in later.

Prominent Local Figures - Questions

While Elvis grew up in Tupelo and was known to give concerts in Sheffield, is there factual information pointing to the time he spent in Cherokee? Also, does the article contain an neutral fact or a point of view? I nominate this section be deleted unless verification can be submitted. Mark 21:30, 18 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Natchez Trace does not pass through

While the Natchez Trace has two exits that mention Cherokee, it is well outside the town limits. The Trace passes near, but not through, Cherokee. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.47.231.251 (talk) 04:38, 31 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
