Following the navigation change done in December, we now see https://wikinav.toolforge.org/?language=en&title=Celebi which shows that in January '24, there was a total of 96 incoming views, and we could identify 38 outgoing clickstreams to the Turkish term and 35 to the Pokemon, while the rest could not be accounted for because of anonymization. --Joy (talk) 07:59, 16 February 2024 (UTC)

In March, with 106 incoming views[1], we observed

Is this page justified?

I guess the Pokemon reads like Sseleby, right? Ç reads like ch, so we have a Sseleby and a Cheleby: NOT THE SAME! A DAB page with just 2 items, which are not even the same - is this a DAB page at all? Honest question, not rhetorical. Thanks, Arminden (talk) 22:37, 30 March 2025 (UTC)

@Arminden because the diacriticless spelling of the terms is homonymic, and a lot of readers don't have a keyboard layout that supports diacritics, it's common practice to help people navigate to both sets of topics like this.

Hi Joy, and thanks, but I already know that much. The main point was: it holds only 2 items, does that even cross the threshold? And yes, they sound differently, on top of the diacritics issue, so your argument (same term) applies only partially.

New argument: Çelebi (disambiguation) already mentions the Pokemon at "See also", where it fits in much better (similar term, but not quite the same). So, transform this into a redirect? I'd say yes. Arminden (talk) 20:09, 5 June 2025 (UTC)

Clearer: if someone looks for

• Çelebi -> they land at Çelebi
• Celebi -> they land at Çelebi#See also

No, we don't use the See also sections as fake hatnotes. It's either disambiguation, which is top-of-the-page material, or it's not, this combination doesn't make sense.

With regard to how these searches are working out, per WP:DPT we can look at the clickstreams, here's the last six months of data:
