Excessive external links

We now have five links in the external links section. As per WP:EXT, this is excessive. See WP:ELMINOFFICIAL: Template:Tq Can we choose which one or two to include and delete the others?

A Google search yields this article as the first result at the twitter page as the second, so I guess it is the most popular official link. WarKosign 20:58, 13 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Cuckolding fetish

Before anyone revert my edit, he actually has many cartoons about this topic.

That's WP:OR or borders vandalism --Denniss (talk) 09:41, 10 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
Now I’ve linked an academic article about this. It is not original research anymore. :-) Azuizo (talk) 18:52, 10 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
this ref is worth nothing as your claim is not supported + its in a foreign language without translation. --Denniss (talk) 19:33, 10 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Template:Od Non english sources are allowed, but it is in bounds to ask for a translation of the relevant portion. Wikipedia:Verifiability#Non-English_sources. I find it incredibly racist to say that Portuguese is a “foreign” language. Azuizo (talk) 20:57, 31 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
you do know this is the English wiki right? ResultingConstant (talk) 21:35, 31 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Stance on Russia-Ukraine war

The article clearly lacks any mentions of pro-russian sentiment shared by the subject. Since 2014 he made several caricatures depicting Ukrainians in a dehumanizing way, like this:

https://twitter.com/LatuffCartoons/status/1504505076290891778 https://ms-my.facebook.com/internationalriot/photos/ukraine-antimaidan-euromaidanfrom-latuff-brasil/671544492901910/

I, as a Ukrainian, find it offensive

He oftentimes dubbs the Russian narrative about "all Ukrainians are nazis", examples:

https://www.irancartoon.com/site/media/zartists/75a4d29f877cd51c3aba2fb049b8611b/carlos-latuff-26.jpg https://twitter.com/LatuffCartoons/status/1181257040913686528

From what the subject posts in social media, his Iran-China-Russia bias is obvious, and it should be pointed out in the article. Choomaque (talk) 21:44, 10 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

I agree completely and it's a shame that it's not mentioned in the article. Do you know of any reliable sources so we can put it in? 84.148.208.43 (talk) 21:17, 17 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
I've added his cartoons regarding Russo-Ukrainian war as well as the fact that he is a contributor to a CCP tabloid. Choomaque (talk) 09:54, 12 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
I agree that "Global Times" is a bad source overall, but this is the media outlet the subject is contributing to. It is basically their admission. There is no better proof than publication itself admitting the subjects is contributing to them: https://www.globaltimes.cn/author/Carlos-Latuff.html
Also the subject OPENLY anti-ukrainian, parrots russian nattatives, like "invasion won't happen, the US is paranoid" before the invasion: https://x.com/LatuffCartoons/status/1495907455292919812/photo/1 and "west is just using Ukraine like a condom" https://www.instagram.com/reel/DGoYml-pQhK/ openly mocking the president of a country fighting an existential war. Edit request 14 June 2025

Template:Edit extended-protected

Description of suggested change:

Carlos Latuff is having anti-Ukrainian stance in Russo-Ukrainian war. This fact is noteworthy, since the subject openly demonstrates it:

Equates the armed forces of sovereign nation recognized by UN to an extremist armed militia (ISIS): https://x.com/LatuffCartoons/status/1680686599993016320/photo/1

In 2022 spread the Russian narrative stating that warning of the imminent Russian invasion is mere fearmongering by NATO countries, demonstrated here: https://x.com/LatuffCartoons/status/1495907455292919812/photo/1

This year showed disrespect towards the president of a country that is forced to fight an existential war with superior opponent, as demonstrated here: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DGoYml-pQhK/?hl=en https://x.com/LatuffCartoons/status/1895579084174107112

I would like the pictures from these links to be featured in the gallery section. As well as the fact that Latuff is a contributor artist to a CCP tabloid "The Global Times" https://www.globaltimes.cn/author/Carlos-Latuff.html

Without secondary sources, there’s no reason to believe this is due Zanahary 20:58, 14 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
File:X mark.svg Not done: I'm declining the request as Carlos Latuff is not protected. Even were the page protected, this would be removed from the queue due to the contestation from Zanahary, as edit requests are for uncontroversial and immediately actionable requests. Choomaque, you have the ability to simply make this edit now. I would advise against blindly doing that, however, as Zanahary has concerns, and unless you discuss it with him you will likely just be reverted which could lead to some not-so-good outcomes down the line. I'd suggest reading up on consensus building and engaging in that here.Sirdog (talk) 22:51, 14 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
I was too quick in reviewing this request and see it is under the Arbitration Committee's 30/500 restriction. Choomaque, you actually may not enact this edit. I apologize for not doing due-diligence before responding; that is solely my fault. You may also not engage in consensus building if my understanding of the ruling is accurate. The edit request is still declined per my above rationale. —Sirdog (talk) 22:55, 14 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
What is the correct way to engage with User:Zanahary about the edits I proposed? Choomaque (talk) 23:15, 14 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
What you are asking to do is to build consensus for your desired change. As a non-extended confirmed editor, per the 30/500 restriction, you are not permitted to do so within this topic area. Thus, you are disallowed from engaging with Zanahary about your proposed edit. You are only permitted to suggest non-controversial edit requests. If you would like an authoritative answer, as I am by no means an expert on these restrictions, I would carefully and respectfully ask - without engaging in what your proposed edit is doing - an administrator who is active in Arbitration Enforcement. —Sirdog (talk) 23:44, 14 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
I am not asking for consensus building. My edit was rejected twice and I didn't see any reasoning for that. If the edits I propose were in fact controversial I need to know based on what criteria it was controversial, so that will allow me to assess future possible edits to the other pages bases on these criteria before committing them. Choomaque (talk) 19:34, 15 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
Information that has not been reported by any reliable secondary sources is rarely due for inclusion, especially on a biography of a living person. All of your sources are primary. Zanahary 20:24, 15 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
