Air quality

I can't verify either way, but I gather that Burslem's air quality is adversely affected by the junction, where traffic conjestion builds up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.243.203.242 (talk) 10:09, 28 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Lemmy under 'In popular culture'

Iv removed the text saying Lemmy from motorhead is from Burslem under 'In popular culture' because it is stated in 'Notable people'. No need to have it twice, no matter how good he is. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Foreverinsane (talkcontribs) 23:05, 14 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

The last para. of the Popular Culture section still needs sorting out, Slash to be moved to Notables. Boscaswell talk 21:01, 19 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Population discrepancy

In the infobox it’s 11000-odd, in the Population and... section it’s over 20000. This looks very strange. Boscaswell talk 20:57, 19 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Apparently Burslem is the Mother Town of the Potteries and its population is said to be stable. So it must include at least one-sixth of the city - so, say, 40,000. Surely the real point is that, if the writers of the article can't be bothered to find out the right numbers, they shouldn't put them in at all. Maybe they shouldn't be editing it at all! Maybe the whole article is bollocks. But, hey - it's only Wikipedia! 2A00:23C6:4702:CF01:414:9442:BA1A:A11 (talk) 17:14, 3 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

Burslem Cemetery

Claims relating to Stoke on Trent College

At present the article states: "Burslem is the site of the main campus of Stoke-on-Trent College, the largest Further Education college in England." but there is no reference given for "main campus" or "largest Further Education college in England. The college website https://www.stokecoll.ac.uk/ does not make these claims that I can find.

The page https://www.stokecoll.ac.uk/welcome-to-stoke-on-trent-college/ does, however say: "We are the largest provider of further education in Stoke and North Staffordshire,"

I am modifying the article accordingly.
