Far East Command is a military regional division of the British military. It was also a historical command of the United States military, one of that country's first joint commands. This article focuses on the British unit.
The region covered China, Hong Kong, Kobe and Singapore. Major bases included Hong Kong (HMS Tamar) and Singapore. Established in 1943 with the United States, it was disbanded in 1971 and taken over by ANZAC Forces.
With the return of Hong Kong to Chinese rule in 1997, the British presences is more limited when compared to the American influence in the region.
