Removal of the disinformation and conspiracy theories section
This subsection has various issues.
A) The ideology and political positions section is reserved for party's declared belief's, policy goals, and doctrinal stances. Accusation of disinformation or manipulation should not lie in this section at first place. If at all it must be put under controversies or media relations kind of section, not in a ideology and political positions section citing WP:UNDUE and WP:SYNTH
B) The sources used are either failing some or other wiki policy like:
1- Alt News, the line in the article says, "At this moment the BJP's 2024 campaign is riding on disinformation and anti-muslim hate" using which a sentence is framed on this para, is a opinion of author Indradeep Bhattacharya with WP:NOR just citing some quotes and making a conclusion, we are giving it WP:UNDUE which it clearly violates and even naming a section on it.
2- PrincetonPress, The specific quote (regd Amit Shah) lacks direct attribution to a verifiable source let alone a third party source. The authors claims (The use of fake news has been a part of the party) are being presented as uncontested fact when they are only opinions and interpretations (fails WP:BLV, WP:NPOV and WP:VERIFY)
3- TheWire, no other media source (national or international) have reported it, and their is no direct press release from US State Dept either. (Outlandishly fails WP:V, WP:RS)
4- Mediapart, The source attached TheHindu quotes Mediapart "firmly condemns the instrumentalisation of its recent report about OCCRP by BJP, in order to serve BJP political agenda". I fail to understand how can this lie under ideology section. The condemnation is clearly about the OCCRP report usage fiasco citing no facts available in this particular case, why is it given WP:UNDUE and used under conspiracy theory section.
No where in any wikipedia page of a political party, it's non doctrinal / beliefs that the party didn't declare are not included. Only exception is this page with a section titled "Disinfo and conspiracy theories" inside the ideology section. The first 4 subsections are well framed and put but this last subsection fails on multiple policies and should be removed as none of the above 4 source used fails to meet major wiki policies and this entire section is WP:UNDUE and WP:synth on top of it.
Hope my detailed exp. clears the confusion and lead to removal of this section (or atleast get a discussion on talk page, as too many violations can't be unseen and this issue must be figured out) Editking100 (talk) 05:05, 12 June 2025 (UTC)
flag image?
I just wanted to say the BJP flag in the page is 'BJP flag.svg' which has hindi words on it... i think the right one is 'BJP Flag.svg' (capital F) that has no words. its here https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:BJP_Flag.svg
maybe someone can fix this?ইমরান ভূইয়া (talk) 05:32, 17 June 2025 (UTC)
