Traffic accidents
Changed to reflect first hand experience. They are still there, but they do longer are dressed to cause traffic accidents.

I was just in Taiwan and the Betel Nut Girls are as pretty as ever. Much of the country seems drab at first blush and those twinkling lights really brighten things up.

Just spent a few weeks in Taiwan again. They are definitely still dressed to cause traffic accidents. tharsaile 04:20, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
How they are dressed depends a lot on the area and even the time of day. See my Flickr gallery mentioned in the main article, it's regularly updated. (Tobie Openshaw - Sept 2009)
I would question the logic of the statement: "If most betel nut beauties come from agricultural and working-class backgrounds, so do their customers and employers. Betel nuts are, after all, an agricultural product". That implied only people from agricultural and working-class backgrounds eat sgriculatural products. Even city dwellers eat food!203.184.41.226 (talk) 19:28, 7 December 2012 (UTC)
