Not Brewed Exclusively in Berlin

In fact, one of the better examples comes from Weihenstephan in Bavaria. There are also many credible examples brewed in the U.S. these days. Although these may all technically be "Berlin-Style" instead of "Berlin," maybe it's clearer and more accurate to say "Berliner Weisse is a type of wheat beer native to the area of Berlin, Germany." 91.176.45.15 (talk) 07:40, 23 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Brettanomyces

the original Berliner Weisse needs the Brettanomyces genus of yeast, cf :de. --tickle me 02:45, 4 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Protected Geographical Indication?

Is it in fact true that Berliner Weisse har protected Geographical Indication in the European Union? I can't seem to find a source for this. --JT (talk) 14:18, 8 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

-No it does not seem to be: http://ec.europa.eu/agriculture/quality/door/list.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.51.216.8 (talk) 21:17, 4 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Not impartial

Why have 5 or so craft examples listed by name when hundreds are available, seems to steer consumers to specific products. See link https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/style/87/ 2601:144:C000:77EF:8C85:919E:6D2:9F0C (talk) 11:28, 6 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

A section for how the Beer Judge Certification Program officially defines the Berliner Weisse

The BJCP describes Berliner Weisse as light in color, highly carbonated, and low in hop aroma. A drinker might expect a bready wheat flavor from the malt and "funky" hints of Brettanomyces accompanying the tartness of the beer. [1]
