Some additional information that might be of interest.
The past 5 summer seasons have seen a joint British / French ice coring team stationed on Berkner. They are adding and improving on the ice core record.
The science was Supported by the British Antarctic Survey from Rothera Research Station and Halley Research Station, but the Twin Otter fleet. The French Antarctic Division designed, built and operated a very sophisticated ice coring drill.
