Non-notable
I removed the following paragraph from the article because I don't think it meets the WP:Notability guidelines:
- University staff member Joel Dechant has helped internationalize the Kannawa area of Beppu by becoming the first English language volunteer guide in the city. His work has helped put the spotlight on the efforts of city government and local non-profit organization Kannawa Yukemuri Sanpo to revitalize the historic Kannawa district. The city has since received government funding as part of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Renaissance Project to aid in restoring cobblestone roads in Kannawa.

Removed section on the sex museum, since it does not exist anymore. Also changed the number of hells to eight, since the Kinryu went belly up a few years ago. This is reflected in the latest tourist pamphlet on http://www.beppu-jigoku.com/images/English.pdf — Preceding unsigned comment added by The-observer (talk • contribs) 03:36, 11 August 2012 (UTC)

Historical population table
Hi,
I'm a French contributor of Wikipedia. While adding information on the french Wikipedia article of the city, I have upgraded your initial table to add more dates and sources for the different years. I prefer giving it to you rather than putting it directly in your article, in case you didn't want it. Also, it might not be perfect and might require some adjustments.
Sincerely,
